Hair Tutorial by SpeedBlitz99 Hair Tutorial by SpeedBlitz99
One of my WIP's last night I decided to work on for a friend to show them how to use hair. After I got done drawing Noir, I started on Lag and this orz. I continued to worked on it late last night but didn't get too far.

But this is pretty much it. Thats all the steps to my madness ;;w;;.

well daaannnngg...that makes it sound so simple...so you do all your coloring in Photoshop? None of it in SAI then? I was just curious if you're able to do the basic thing as well on SAI without dodging and burning.

Yeah this was just in Photoshop but done a loooonnng time ago, I havent done any tutorials for Sai though, but its kinda the same thing even with the extra layer. have a dif layer for the shading on sai use airbrush probably and just do the same thing. Try and stay away from dodge and burn.

lol yeah, i don't even know HOW to dodge and burn in sai. Haven't exactly fooled around that much with it yet. But alright...I shall try something akin to that. ^.^ If not, I know where to find you and ask for first hand help! XD How's your otter coming along?

Its still the same having done anything to it yet, been doing other homework.

Theres no burn or dodge on Sai but actually is a layer filter: luminosity will pretty much act as a dodge. Burn I guess would be the Shade or something, its part of the layers
But still stay steer from them

lol, so true.

Well I guess that makes sense. And yeah, I tend to anyway, luminosity just looks weird whenever I play around with it anyways. :/ oh well, I shall! Good luck on finishing the otter! have fun with it!

Got 2 Question : 1) when you end on doing the shading, did you erase even the beginning lineart ?
2) from the 4th to the 5th pict of the 6 step, part of the "white" lines where erased a bit or you used other way for that effect ?
Thanks for the amazing tutorial and sorry for my unlearned english!

1. No I dont erase any lineartwork that was there.
2. I used them as an away to effect, if you look at the no. pictures during that step area, the difference in the hair with strands.

And no its good english xDD, and no problem

:/ as for now i'm not able to do that kind of strands cuz I've got no tablet, as soon as possible i'll buy one, i'll try to learn the Brush shape dynamics of cs4 so I could draw that kind of stripe-effect while I work without re-doing it later... well, thanks a lot, asap i'll use what I acknowledged from you!
